Homeschool Room Tour
B and M's side of the room
M's desk area. Her verse cards which doubles as the alphabet, are posted across the front area of her desk along with some other charts and games from the curriculum that we use. There are also some of her art projects posted with sticky tack to make them easy to change out as she makes more.
M at her desk. This old chalk board, that was found in a friend's old storage building, is to the right of the window on the back wall of the room.
The good work board is to the left of the window. It was great that they are the exact same size so it keeps everything visually balanced (which is just how I like things).
S's work area. They each have a small bulletin board in front of them to post whatever they need or want. I have also used sticky tack to hang any teaching visuals that are needed from various subjects.
The door to our supply closet doubles as a game visual for M. The bulletin board in the corner has a dry erase schedule hung on it. Each Monday, I write who has what test/quiz beside the day that it is scheduled for. IThis has been a life saver to have this info at a quick glance!
These were some free prints that I found online. I blogged about it here.
I love adding scripture reminders to this space seeing as we spend a lot of our time in here! Hope you like the tour, now what do you think?

New Table
We are having a lot of fun finding good deals to decorate the house with. This table was a great find at TMxx. I put it in the foyer area along with the oval mirror I talked about here. I absolutely love how it is turning out!

House at Sunset
As you know, we are in the middle of building a house. I thought I would show you what the house looks like so far. Can you believe it is now dried in??!!!It is happening so fast!
The moon peaking through the trees behind Scot's shop.
The backyard at sunset.
How can you not reflect and be amazed by our Creator when you see and enjoy His handiwork each day?

Thanksgiving Mantel Inspiration
I am working on a Thanksgiving mantel display after seeing this beautiful one over at The Lettered Cottage.
Layla was sweet enough to offer a free download of the picture that her husband took for their mantel.
Thanks Layla for the Beautiful picture and the inspiration!

Wicker Chest
I was so excited to find this great heavy duty, wood-lined wicker chest on craigslist!
I love looking on craigslist for things. You just never know what deals you will find on there!
Have you found things on craigslist before and if so, what have you found?

Home Blog
In case you may not know, we are starting to build a new home in the next few weeks! I can not tell you how excited I am that the dream is finally coming true. It has been a long process, but I know God's timing is perfect.
I have a home blog that has been documenting things so far. It is called Our Home on County Road 39.
I have not been posting as much lately because there has not been much to share! However, that is changing now! I have started posting some more ideas that you may like to see and soon, hopefully, VERY SOON (like July 1st possibly!), I will start showing the building process!
I would love for you to follow me in this journey. Who knows, I may even ask for your opinion along the way!
Now go on over and check it out!

Hydrangeas
I LOVE Hydrangeas and was so happy to have a nice mature bush in the front corner of the yard
here at the rental house.
We have enjoyed cutting the blooms and placing them around the house. Doesn't the house just feel so much more alive with fresh flowers scattered about?
The color variations are so beautiful!
So what is your favorite flower?

The Oval Mirror
I found this beauty at T*Ma*x for only $15.00!
For now, Scot hung it for me over the mantel in our bedroom. I think I will use it in the foyer at the new house.

The Storage Cube
I got this great wicker storage cube from Wa*m**t. It was the last one in the clearance section and did not have a tag on it. I asked the cashier if she could tell me a price on it.
She gave it to me for $3.50! It pays to ask!

New Lamps for the Girl's Rooms
I found this silver lamp at the GW for $1.29. Can you believe that? I added a $4 lamp shade and now S has the stylish, grown-up lamp she has been wanting!
E has been wanting a glass lamp for her room. It really does pay to be patient. I could have bought one at tar-jay for $20.00 without a shade, instead I found this cutie for $5.00 (including the shade) at a garage sale!
The purple base does not match her room, but that is an easy fix. We will just spray paint it :)

The Nightstand
Scot found this nightstand at a garage sale for $10.00. It needs painting and new hardware,
but that is an easy fix.
We will paint it white and add some "bling" for the handles.
S and M are sharing a room at the new house and this will be perfect between their beds
as a shared nightstand.

Lights
Look what I got for $5.00! It doesn't look like much now, but just wait till she gets all prettied up :)

Second Draft
We are reviewing our house plans this weekend. It such an exciting time!!!

There are a few changes, but overall things are heading in the right direction! It is so thrilling to see ideas come to life on paper and to see that it really is possible to do certain things I had wanted done!
We are to the point where we need to make some decisions in a few areas. I can't wait to show you the final plans. Hopefully, it won't be long!

The Closing
Today we closed on our house. It was a bittersweet day. Lots of tears were shed especially when I came home to a different home. It was weird not turning down our street. Instead I drove right past around the corner and down the a new street.
I know it is just a house, but there are so many memories in that house. I will cherish them and hold them close to my heart forever. I wrote a little about that here.
I am thankful that this chapter of our life has closed so we can move onto the new chapter and finally build our dream home on our land. It is an exciting time and one in which we have waited for a long time!

So as we are just a week or so into the new year. I am thankful that this new year is bringing a new and exciting beginning to our home.
