I am not sure where I originally saw this recipe, but after trying it, I knew it was a keeper. The problem is I do not have the exact recipe! I have searched the internet and have found different versions (some with pasta added), but I loved the original so much I knew I had to try to duplicate it. This is how I make it to my liking, you can adjust the herbs and seasonings to your taste as well.
It is so quick and delicious...not to mention healthy!
1 can great northern beans
1 can diced tomatoes
16 oz chicken broth
3 or 4 oz of frozen spinach
chicken breast, cooked and shredded (optional: I have eaten it both ways and loved them both!)
small onion, diced
1/2 tsp basil
1/4 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste
Combine in sauce pan, simmer for 10 - 15 minutes.
Quick and delicious!

Out of the Mouth of Babes
I just have to write this little memory down here on the blog so I won't forget the cute little things that my 5 year old says!
While reading from my devotional book, M informed me that I needed to stop reading from my "emotional" book and start reading the Bible because it was much better.
Then, I was reading a passage of Scripture to her and one of the verses said something about drinking wine and she said, "they should not be drinking wine because water is the only thing that is healthy for you!"

Chef M
M got a chef set for Christmas. It was the perfect gift for her because she everyday she asks to help in the kitchen.
She loves sitting on the counter and helping prepare meals. I enjoy it too. Such sweet memories are made as we work together to prepare food for our family.

New Home Ornament
I love getting Hallmark ornaments to represent things that happen in our family throughout the year. Since we built our new house in 2011, I wanted to get a "New Home" ornament for us. Sadly, I waited too long to start looking and could never could find one at our local Hallmark store.
I was in Books a Million the other night (a store I rarely go to!) and they had a small display for Hallmark ornaments. They only had a few ornaments left and were marked way down. I decided to go take a look just to see if they happen to have a New Home one.
To my delight I found one! Actually, there was only one left and I can't tell you how excited I was to find it!
The best part was that it was only $3! (Originally, $15.) I also think it is pretty cool that the house is green just like ours :)

Jesus, You are ALL I Need!
This song spoke to me today and I thought I would share it with you. No matter what you are going through, you can always trust the Lord to be ALL that you need!
Healer
by Kari Jobe
You hold my every moment
You calm my raging seas
You walk with me through fire
And heal all my disease
I trust in You
I trust in You
I believe You're my healer
I believe You are all I need
I believe You're my portion
I believe You're more than enough for me
Jesus, You're all I need
I trust in You
I trust in You
Nothing is impossible for You
Nothing is impossible for You!

Man v Wild Style
B made this knife stick this afternoon.
When I saw him with it, I took it away from him and told him the dangers of something like this. When Scot got home, I showed it to him and he busted out laughing!!!
He said that the guy on Man v Wild had made something just like this in the episode they had watched the night before!
Oh and don't worry, when he was finally able to keep a straight face talking about it, he too had a conversation about safety!
