Summer is...Popsicles

I cannot tell you how much this girl loves popsicles. No kidding she wakes up and asks for one!

Living in the south, sometimes you do need a popsicle to cool off - even before 8 am!

Bedtime Stories

Each night as part of our bedtime routine, we allow the kids to "stay up" and read. Sometimes we read to them and sometimes they read to themselves. E and S usually take turns reading to M. (They are such great big sisters!) They both love to read and I am so thankful for that!

Last night, S climbed into bed with M and starting reading the book that M checked out from the library. Scot went to check on them and when he came back out he said hurry get your camera, M has her head on S's shoulder listening intently, trying to stay awake to hear the whole story. He said it is so sweet.

Of course, by the time I got in there with my camera, the moment was disturbed. I took a picture anyway because it is these simple moments that are creating special memories between two sisters.

Turtles and Frogs

For her birthday, S received a bug habitat. She loves it!

The kids were very excited when Scot suggested we go find some tadpoles. We went to my mom's pond hoping to find some there. We walked around the entire pond and was not able to find anything!

Well, except this little guy now named Skipperty. The kids had enjoyed having him to play with and take care of.
Later that day, we went to see a new car my sister was going to buy. At the dealership, there was a huge drainage ditch that was overflowing from all the rain we have gotten in the last week. I jokingly suggested they see if there were some tadpoles in it.

I didn't really intend for my sweet husband to walk through inches of mud and to search the murky water for tadpoles, but he did! To their delight, he found 13 tadpoles for the kids to watch turn into frogs! So now we have a full bug habitat...and many hours of enjoyment.

Happy 7th Birthday!

7 years ago today, my sweet little girl was born!

She is truly the sweetest little girl you will ever meet. Her heart is what makes her even more beautiful than she already is!

She has a tender heart and a great love for God. I pray she will always be this senstive and will be used of God for His glory!

She thinks of others first, she loves to take care of people, and help in whatever way possible.

She is a great big sister!

She loves life and it shows!

She is a daddy's girl - always has been. From the time she was a toddler, she has been a Buckeye fan thanks to daddy. There is NO changing her mind either!

She loves the beach. She is a shell collector - and great at it too! She has found some beauutiful ones that she produly displays. She loves to swim and loves her goggles!

She loves to laugh and make other people laugh. I love to hear her laugh! She says and does the funniest things and can be so funny without trying to be.

She is an artist. Loves to paint and draw and write...she has a beautiful imagination and is so creative!

She is an ice cream loving, tea drinking, boiled peanut eating, southern girl!

She loves to play dress up and dolls. She loves to ride her bike and to do the puzzles in the newspaper. She loves animals - dogs, horses, caterpillars, turtles - you name it, she loves them!

She has a great desire to learn - she loves to read and to do school.

(Her first day of K5)

She loves to organize. Everything has to be a certain way. She also like to collect things -shells and rocks are her favorite.

Happy Birthday, Pookie! We love you!

The kids were able to harvest something from their garden for the first time today! They were super excited the banana pepper was ready....
and they counted 13 tomatoes of various sizes on their 4 tomato plants.
This weekend we will plant even more veggies...Oh how we love homegrown summer veggies!

Summer Break means....Tea Parties

The lazy days of summer calls for dress up and tea parties.

Even B came, but much to the girls dismay, they could not convince him to dress up. Who's he kidding? We know he was there only for the food!

Summer Break means....Fun at the Park

The cooler temperatures have stuck around today so we decided to take advantage and spend some time at the park.

My mom, sister and her family were able to join us for a pizza picnic. The kids enjoyed playing with their cousins!

And for the record, you're never too old to play......

We are looking forward to many more lazy summer days at the park!

Summer Break Starts Today

Summer break starts TODAY! Believe it or not it has started out as a cold, wet day outside...52 this morning!

We decided to snuggle under the blankets and watch this!

Don't you just love Anne of Green Gables? I remember as a girl going to many spend the night parties and watching the entire series...Oh how we loved Gilbert!
I love watching it now as much as I ever did , only this time I get to enjoy it with my girls! I am not ashamed to say that I still cry when Matthew dies and when Gilbert tells Anne that he hopes that "he breaks your heart, whoever he is"..and I still love "I don't want diamonds, or sunburst halls, I only want you!!!! ..oooohhh my!
Today promises to be a fun filled day snuggling on the couch watching Anne and Gilbert. I am so glad that my girls love watching Anne as much as I do.... and as for B, well, he likes it too. What choice does he have really with a house full of sisters!

Graduation Photo Shoot

I had a great time taking B's K5 graduation pictures!

Do you know how hard it is to keep a little boy in a white graduation gown clean as you walk all through the Botanical Gardens? VERY HARD, but he did a fantastic job...he was so patient and cooperative!

You can see the sprinklers on in the background...he wanted to run and play in them, but he didn't. He resisted the urge and he tried to make me think that he was going to run through which, of course, brought this beautiful smile across his face!

I am not sure if he was happy that he was graduating or that the photo shoot was almost done and he could take off the hot gown!
So which is your favorite?
