Cooking Supper
I had a terrible headache all day today. Around 4, my sweet 10 year old told me not to worry about cooking supper that she would do it for me. She told me she wanted to do it by herself and I could just rest on the couch. How sweet is that?
She made Meatloaf, Baked Sweet Potatoes, and Steamed Broccoli. It was delicious! She really did do a good job. She said she added a few secret ingredients to the meatloaf....whatever she did, it was yummy!
She even set the table all nice and pretty.
Thank you E for so being so thoughtful! You did a FANTASTIC job cooking and I am so proud of you. We may need to make this a weekly thing *smile*

Our Snowman
Thankfully when we got snow on Friday, we had enough to make a snowman! We had a blast doing it!
I am sure we were a sight trying to lift it :)
To put into perspective how big the snowman was, this is M, our 3 year old, standing next to it!
I love the look of excitement on B's face! He, like all the kids, was LOVING the snow and the fun filled day of playing in it. What a treat!

Snowy Day at the Land

Snow Day
Excited does not accurately describe how we felt when we woke up to snow falling in our southern town! The first snowfall we have had since 1993...several years before my kids were born!
This was the first real snow the younger three have seen.
E saw and played in the snow when we visited Scot's parents in Ohio back in 2000. (Although she really does not remember it!)
Isn't it beautiful!
I will do several posts of our fabulous day full of snow and all the fun activities that goes along with it!

The Race
Today is race day and I have one who is too sick to go....I hate that S is missing the race especially after all the hard work that she did on her car and I hate that I have to miss watching the other 3 race their cars. Sometimes things just do not go as planned, but at least Scot was able to take pictures and I was able to share in their excitement over the phone.
So today was their first time participating in the Grand Prix. They spent time this week getting their cars ready for the big race. They sanded, painted and decorated their cars. I showed you that here.
This being their first year, we really did not know what to expect so they went with simple designs. Next year will be a different story...they already have some pretty incredible designs in mind!!!
The cars were judged on design and of course, they raced the cars in each of their groups to determine the top three fastest cars in each age group.
All together they brought home 4 trophies.
B's red racer won 2nd place in design.
E's polka dot car won 2nd in speed
M won 1st place in design and 1st place in speed
Great job, kids! We are so proud of your hard work and your good sports attitudes!

Chocolate Chip Cheeseball
This is a fun dish to bring to a kids party. It is an easy and fun thing that the kid will enjoy helping to make.
8 oz. Cream cheese
1/2 c. butter softened
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 c. confectioners sugar
1 pkg. mini chocolate chips, divided
Beat the first 3 ingredients together. Then add the sugar and 3/4 of the chocolate chips. Form the mixture into a ball and chill.
Once chilled, roll the ball in the remaining chocolate chips.
Serve with Teddy Grahams or Graham Cracker Sticks.

The Clean Up
This morning, M spilt her cheerios on the floor and B quickly volunteered to clean it up. What a sweet, helpful little man I have!?!?!
Things like this are happening often around here thanks to the shop vac we gave Scot for his birthday.
The "boys - both big and little" take any opportunity they can to use their "toy"!
