The Sign

B, my five year old, loves to be my cleaning helper. (I tell you one day he will make some girl one lucky woman!)

As I was mopping the floors, he asked if he could be the one who mops his room. I was happy to let him.

When he was finished, he got some paper and made this sign.

He said, "So everyone knows it is slippery. You know, like Wal-mart does when they mop the bathrooms!"

Our First Swimming Trip of the Year

We had a fantastic first trip to the pool this year! Our sweet friends invited us to their mom's pool.

S with her friend, E

It is amazing how quickly their swimming skills returned. For safety, I had the little ones wear their life jackets, but by the end of the day, they were swimming without them.

Summer, here we come!

Little Farmers

My little farmers are so excited to see some tomatoes and peppers growing on their plants.

They (nor I) can wait till we can harvest these fruits and vegetables!

Just for Me

I would rather have this handful of beautiful wildflowers than any store bought roses....

because my sweet 9 year old daughter walked all across our property finding one here and there making a bouquet just for me.

As she gave them to me, she lovingly said "I picked these just for you mom".....and it melted my heart. I pray she will never be too old to pick wild flowers from the yard just for me, her mom!

Lewis and Clark

In school, the kids have been reading books about different historical characters. Last week, we learned about Lewis and Clark.

Meet our Lewis and Clark....

...because they like to explore trees.

A Secret Place

This song has been an excouragement to me this week. It is a Patch the Pirate song. E actually sang it in The Patch Club last year. It is amazing how so many of these songs designed for kids speak directly to my heart! May you be encouraged too as you read the words.

I've found a secret place
Of comfort and release,
A special place of healing
A quiet place of peace.

And everyone who dwells there
Finds rest beneath God's wings,
In the shade of His pavilion
New strength He always brings...

Chorus:
I find hope, I find grace,
Far away from the world's embrace
He gives me rest, He keeps me safe,
I find His strength, I seek His face...
In the secret place

With every trial He brings
My Lord will make a way,
To strengthen and protect me
To help me face each day.
He leads me through the valley
To draw me closer still,
Knowing even in the shadows
I find His perfect Will...

Chorus:
I find hope, I find grace,
Far away from the world's embrace
He gives me rest, He keeps me safe,
I find His strength, I seek His face...
In the secret place

The Wish

M wanted to go to the land with Daddy. He was needing to get up on the roof so he felt it would be better for her to stay with me. She cried a little then she went outside to play with B.

A few minutes later she came back inside with a handful of wishes (that is what she calls them).

Standing in front of me, she closed her eyes and said, "I wish my daddy would come back home." It was the sweetest thing ever!
