Celebrity Day

From the time B heard that there was going to be a celebrity day at co-op, he planned to be a part of the Robertson family. You have heard of them right? 

Our family loves watching Duck Dynasty and it was only fitting that he become a Duck Commander for the day :)

Science - Model of Mercury

S loves science and doing any kind of hands on projects.

We have been studying the planets this semester in science. We have done several projects and reports along the way. Today, after learning about Mercury, S made a model of Mercury. She loved every second of this quick project.

Pajama Day 2013

We had Pajama Day at co-op this semester and 

M was the only one of my kids who wanted to participate!

She LOVES penguins and was so excited to show off her penguin slippers :) I am glad she did not think she was too old to go to school in her pj's!

Valentine's Day Wreath

E made this cute  Valentine's Day wreath in her co-op class. I love it and am so glad I get to benefit from her craftiness!

Christmas Visit

We are so blessed to have several friends who live in our small town that also homeschool.

This year for our Christmas Party we first went to a local assisted living home and sang Christmas carols, played the piano and visited with the residents. We all loved it so much!

One of the residents mentioned how they love this time of year because people come and visit. This saddened me because I know I am guilty of thinking of these types of ministries only around the holidays!

We, as a group, have decided that we would make this a regular outing for our children. We plan to go back and play games and do crafts with the residents throughout the coming year!

Names of God ornaments

This week in Bible we have been studying the names of God. We colored these little ornaments and hung them on my branch tree.

I think it is a perfect way to keep God at the center of all that do this Christmas season, a constant reminder of who He is and ALL He has done for us!

Planet Notebooks

We are learning about the Planets and other Astronomy related things so we decided to do a notebook of sorts. The kids enjoyed doing school in a different manner today and I enjoyed watching their creativity shine!

School Day Distraction

Today's school day distraction...cow loose on the back of our property. He broke through the fence from the neighboring field. Now to locate the farmer so the rest of the cow's friends don't try to find out if the grass really is greener on the other side of the fence :) Love country living! 

S's Report

S had to do a state report for her Co-op class. She chose to do it on the state of Ohio since her daddy is from there.

She did a great job getting everything ready - the research and writing along with the visuals! So proud of her for working hard to get it all done on time!

F.L.O.W. 2012

This semester E had the privilege to be a part of this great group of homeschooling friends.

After co-op each Tuesday, they would eat lunch together, have a devotional, then go out around town to minister in various areas.

Throughout the semester, E went to the nursing home to visit with the residents, cleaned stoves at the local Habitat for Humanity, organized food at the local food bank, and did chores at the Humane Society. I am so thankful that she got the opportunity to serve others this semester and she loved doing it!

We had a great time this semester in our co-op classes. My friend who is on the yearbook was able to sneak in some pics of my kids during some of their classes. I am so glad she shared them with me!

M's Experiment

M made a lava jar today in co-op. The teacher sent home extra tablets so she could show her family how it works. She was so happy to demonstrate this for us.

She is loving Mrs. Kelly's class and we are so thankful for such sweet teachers!

Back to School party

We had a Back to School party at our house with some of our homeschooling friends. Sadly, I took a picture of the cake and that was it! Oh, well, maybe next time I will do better!

We are so thankful to have such great friends with whom we can get together and do play dates and parties with throughout the year!

First Day of Co-op

 Today is the first day of co-op for this school year. The kids are so excited for their classes this year a few of their classes this semester are Anatomy, tumbling, cooking, and art.

We are so thankful to be a part of a great homeschool group!

The 2012-2013 school year started today!

M's Graduation Pictures

I thought I would post a few of my favorite pictures from M's graduation photo shoot. She is such a natural in front of the camera that it makes my job so much easier :) Love this girl!

It is getting closer....

and closer to the time that my baby graduates from K5! Her cap and tassel came in the mail today. and when she tried it on, I cried! My baby is growing up!!!! 

We have to go take her graduation pictures soon. I think it will really make me cry when she has on both her cap and gown. I am trying not to think about that yet! Isn't she just adorable though :)

Beauty and the Beast

We went to see a Beauty and the Beast play that was put on by a local christian school.  They did a wonderful job!

B's project - Lemurs

B did a fantastic job on his Lemur report! There were several distractions, but he stuck with it and did a wonderful job!

E's Sewing Project

E made this pillow at Co-op this semester.

She did all the stitching by hand. I think she did a fantastic job! We are going to be adding some new fabric in her room and this is part of it. It is going to be so cute....more to come on that later!
