It's Fair Night!

There has been great excitement in our house all day long..tonight we are going to the fair!


This was M's favorite ride...the "Bum Bee's".




She loved to look around when she was up in the sky!




S loved the worm rollercoaster...she remembered it from last year and could not wait to get on!

Future drivers...







E loves the bumper cars! This year B and Scot rode together and E rode with my cousin, Billy. They had a blast bumping into each other.






These are the brave little ones that went on the bears with Scot...He loves to spin them as fast as he can. I dare say no one can make it go faster!




Even after seeing what he did to the girls, B still wanted to go on with Daddy. So B and Scot went on it too. He was so sick by the time he got off!

The Cast is Finally Off!

B finally got his cast off. This is his last picture with it on...can you tell he really wanted his picture taken???



Haven't we done this before???


Although he still has to be careful for 2 more weeks..at least his arm is free.



I am so proud at how brave and patient he was during this 6 week ordeal! It is NOT easy for a very active little boy not to be able to climb trees, ride his bike or jump on the trampoline!

Another Lost Tooth

Well, S lost her second tooth. I thought it might be easier this time around..boy was I wrong!

Look how cute she is without those bottom teeth???

Kindergarten Day at the Fair

Today was Kindergarten Day at the Fair.

This is the third year in a row we have been because I have had a child in either K4 or K5! Being a homeschool family, I was allowed to bring the other kids too....so it became a family event!

It was such a wonderful morning spent walking around to the various animal shows and exhibits.
Every year, there is a Petting Zoo. The kids LOVE to feed and pet the animals. B especially liked feeding the camel!

They liked seeing the dogs and elephants doing different tricks, but the Sea Lions were probably their favorite. Seeing them wave, balancing the ball on their noses, and even dancing brought lots of laughter and applause.

They also had fun watching the circus acts. They were amazed by the man who rode his motorcycle in the sphere!

I am so thankful to be able to share these school events with my kids. The memories we make on field trips and special events are priceless!

They Won!

The kids entered their pumpkins at the local fair and won! They are SO excited..and I am too.

They worked so hard on them. The girls practiced for a long time trying to paint their horses to make them look right!

They were very creative adding special touches to their cowboy themed pumpkins. E added some cactuses and S added a horseshoe.

I will take more detailed pics when we get the pumpkins back so you can see the other sides of the pumpkin. Right now they are on display at the fair..if you go be sure to stop by and take a first hand look!

Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Every year, my kids enjoy entering the Pumpkin Decorating Contest. This contest is not the traditional carving contest instead it is painting or drawing on a pumpkin! This is all part of the annual festival in a nearby city.

We have fun every year trying to decide what to paint on their pumpkins. They usually want to do something big and elaborate, but then reality sets in. It is harder than you think to paint on a pumpkin, but it is so much fun to see the creative juices begin to flow!

The festival has a theme every year that you can fit into your design or you can come up with your own design. We love to visit the exhibit at the fair and see what ideas every one else came up with! People have turned their pumpkins into everything from a pig to a strawberry to a football player..the possibilities are endless!

The kids just love that it is THEIR creation..no help is allowed from the adults!

A Buckeye pumpkin, of course! Pretty good writing, huh!

S worked hard on fitting her pumpkin into the theme.... "A Peanut Round-Up"



I think she did a fantastic job!






E also went with the theme.




She did a cowgirl riding a horse along with another cowgirl ..notice the pink cowgirl boots! How cute is that!?
